Extreme winter track

On this tour, our aim is to conquer Grimsfjall, a mountain that peaks up through the middle of the largest glacier in Europe; Vatnajokull (4000 km3 of ice, up to 900 m thick, covering 8.300 km2) and if that is not enough … you should know that this mountain is close to one of the most active volcanic areas in Iceland! Be assured that all possible precautions are taken for a safe journey!

During the tour, we will explore the many wonders of the glacier. You will experience the enormous scale of the glacier and the contrast between the heat that lies beneath the earth’s surface and the icy planes above.

We will stay at a hut on top of Grimsfjall that provides comfortable accommodations in bunk beads with sleeping bags that we provide. In the evening while you relax in a steam bath on top of the glacier (a unique experience in itself) the guides prepare a hearty meal for the group.
