Tour Type: 4x4 Truck Tour
Season: Oct.–May

Here we combine two of our most popular day tours, the Golden Circle and South Coast, with an overnight stay at a country lodge in Ranga where we will prepare a delicious dinner for you. The quiet countryside provides peace and repose with a chance of seeing the Northern Lights at their best away from the city lights.

The first day of our tour takes you off the beaten path to experience Iceland’s natural gems in the comfort of our 4x4 trucks. Our first destination is by the volcano Hengill, where we stop at the Nesjavellir Geothermal Plant, which provides Reykjavík with both hot water and electricity in one of the world’s most environmentally friendly manner. Then we drive to beautiful Þingvellir, where Iceland’s first parliament “Alþingi” was established in 930 AD. Next, we cross the mountain road of Lyngdalsheiði to reach the famous Geysir, From Geysir, it’s only a short drive to Iceland’s best known waterfall, Gullfoss, which cascades down 32 meters into the mighty glacial river Hvíta. After seeing Gullfoss up close and listening to its roaring thunder, we drive a mountain track to Iceland’s second largest glacier, Langjokull, where you have the option of renting a snowmobile and blazing across the white plains of the glacier. On the way to Ranga, we make a short photo stop at crater Kerið, which dates back approximately 6500 years.

In the evening, you will enjoy a gourmet dinner and a relaxing bath in hot tub before retiring for the night

The following morning after good breakfast, we explore the black sand on the south coast and the beautiful nature situated around the glaciers. We will see the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, and Skogafoss,, and the great cliffs of Dyrholaey, and Reynisdrangar.

On the way back, we have the option of visiting the greenhouse village of Hveragerði, before passing Hellisheiði, and reaching Reykjavík.

You can combine snowmobiling, Ice climbing, Quadbikes / ATV and Horseback riding to this tour…
